Germany 2012 Ten years of the Euro A D F G J Proof
The coin—designed by Helmut Andexlinger of the Austrian Mint and selected by euro area citizens and residents as the common 2012 commemorative coin—features a stylized globe and euro symbol in the center, illustrating how the euro has become a truly global currency over the past decade. Surrounding elements symbolize the euro's importance to ordinary people (represented by a family), the financial world (the Eurotower building), trade (a ship), industry (a factory), and the energy sector and research and development (two wind turbines). If you look very closely, you can see the designer’s initials, "A. H.", between the ship and the Eurotower building. The issuing country and the years of issue—"2002–2012"—are indicated along the bottom and top edges of the coin, respectively. The coin will be issued by all euro area countries. The twelve stars of the European Union are arranged on the coin's outer ring. Five coins from different mints – A, D, F, G, J:
· 2022 A (Berlin Mint – "Staatliche Münze Berlin")
