Vatican City 2005 20th World Youth Day

    20th World Youth Day

The center of the coin depicts Cologne Cathedral, with a comet flying above it. The inscription "XX GIORNATA MONDIALE DELLA GIOVENTÙ" is arranged in a semicircle along the upper edge of the central part; it is interrupted by the comet's tail and the two spires of the cathedral, one of which extends into the outer ring of the coin. Twelve stars are arranged in a semicircle along the upper edge of the outer ring. At the very top, they are separated by the year of issue, "2005," and the mint mark, "R." In the outer ring, below the image of the cathedral, the inscription "CITTÀ DEL VATICANO" is arranged in a semicircle.
